Supporting Community Development & Collective Impact Initiatives
Community development and collective impact initiatives are uniquely positioned to bring together diverse stakeholders' power, networks, and perspectives to address complex systemic, real-world problems.
To best support these initiatives, we:

-
Work with organizations and community stakeholders to identify a shared vision for the work.
-
Center the work on the lived experiences of those most impacted.
-
Promote collaborative practices to sustain the partnership’s energy and guide collective decision-making for social good.
-
Design culturally responsive and equitable monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) strategies that fit the project’s values, context, resources, and constraints.
-
Bring to bear contextualized information and data to address the project’s most pressing information needs.
-
Build the capacity of and train partners and community stakeholders to monitor, evaluate, and learn from their work.
-
Facilitate reflection and meaning-making opportunities to ensure that what we learn collectively is used.
-
Document the process and what we’ve learned to meet diverse needs.
We custom-design each community development and collective impact project to meet the partnership’s unique needs while being mindful of collective values, context, resources, and constraints.
We advocate for the intentional engagement of those most affected by the project’s issues to be active stakeholders and decision-makers throughout the project.
Our five-phase approach results from nearly two decades of research and practical application aimed at helping non-profits learn from and amplify their social justice efforts.
Our action-oriented process is rooted in equitable collaboration and shared ownership of the process.
