Workshops

A successful evaluation or learning process never begins with the statement, "I need to do a survey!"

Evaluation is a planned process that never starts with selecting data collection tools. Instead, we begin your organization's learning journey by focusing on what you need to know, why, and how you plan to use that information to strengthen your work.

Many working in non-profits, including foundations, are uncertain about evaluation and how best to do it or how to support grantees to learn from their social justice work.

We'd love to help!

You recognize there are big information needs but have a limited budget and capacity.

As a non-profit ED or program manager, you want to strengthen your organization's evaluation capacity. As a funder, you want to ensure your grantees can effectively evaluate and learn from their work.

You want to increase your knowledge and skills to learn and strengthen your impact.

And at the end of the day - or workshop - you want to:

  • Feel more confident with evaluation. To be able, for example, to describe what it is and how to do it.

  • Understand how to do evaluation work that is culturally responsive and equitable.

  • Develop a Logic Model, Theory of Change, or Theory of Action to inform your program's development and guide its evaluation (and how to do this work with your community!)

  • Prioritize what you and your community needs to know about your program and why.

  • Set up a plan to monitor only the program data you can reasonably collect to evaluate your program while being mindful of culturally responsive and equitable approaches.

  • Analyze and make sense of your data and learn how to use it to make decisions such as program improvements (i.e., data-driven decision-making).

  • Tell the story of your program's contributions to the community.

  • Feel like you have an accessible and systematic way to learn from your work.

Great, we’d love to help!

We have over a decade of experience teaching program evaluation in universities and have facilitated hundreds of workshops throughout the USA and globally.

To support your learning and engagement with the materials, we break down technically complicated topics, share strategies, and take you step-by-step.

We have full-day seminars that cover one specific topic, like how to develop a Theory of Change, or multi-day workshops that teach evaluation from start to finish.

All workshop participants receive:

  • Instruction and hands-on support from our team of practitioners.

  • Worksheets they will use during and after the workshop and tip guides.

  • Post-workshop office hours to answer lingering questions and address real-world challenges that may arise when participants implement newly learned strategies.

Download our info-sheet for details on our workshops.

Also, don't forget to check-out our archive of resources, which may help address your needs.
